Callistemon linearis is a busy, medium sized shrub with linear leaves and red bottlebrush spikes up to 12cm long Leaves are aromatic when crushed Flowers appear in late spring and early summer, a small to medium sized shrub from about 1 C 3 metres high
Grow in a sheltered position in full sun with a moist but well drained soil
Soil: loam, sand
Occurs in and between the south east corner of Queensland, Nowra on the south coast of new south wales and inland as far as Gilgandra
Grows in damp situations in a range of vegetation associations
This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and birds
Bush food: Bottlebrush flowers have a sweet nectar which can either be consumed by sucking on the flowers or by soaking the flowers in water to make a sweet drink
Germination: Sow direct on the surface, germination 1 4 weeks
